Designing experiences with objects is not a new concept in the video game industry. When you’re in the business of creating virtual worlds that are intuitive and engaging, objects are everywhere. Like… literal objects. So what makes an object different from an Object in a video game? From intrinsic representation in-world to explicit representation in menu screens, players need to be provided with the most useful and relevant information for whatever context they find themselves in.

Mandi Geiselman is a certified OOUX Strategist and Sr. UX Designer at Autodesk, as a member of the Media and Entertainment Solutions team working on digital content creation tools. In addition to video games, she is a fan of outer space, sea creatures, and cats. She lives in Toronto, Ontario with her partner and their cat, Dana Scully.
